Hatsumira -from the future undying-

Just as Mimori Ichirou, a non-commissioned officer serving as a Zero fighter pilot during the Pacific War, was about to launch a kamikaze attack against an enemy warship, he instead found himself crash-landing in the middle of an unfamiliar desert. However, before he could perish from aimlessly wandering the sand-covered wastes, he was saved by a princess capable of transforming into a dragon.

As a stranger in an even stranger land with no directions to guide him, Ichirou – driven by a promise once made – nonetheless resolved himself to find his way back home to Japan, even if all that awaited him was certain death.

  1. *is a WWII Aviation Nerd, downloads*

Okay, I’m not too far in yet, but the game is supposed to be about a Japanese WWII Naval Aviator getting Isekai’d and instead I’m getting United Kingdom Naval Aviator that flew A6M Zeroes. I’m not sure if this was a localization thing, but the slang/tone that they’re using in the English translations is UK airmen, not Japanese airmen.

Now, this sounds pedantic, but this is really breaking my suspension of disbelief. While the UK to a degree did help get Japanese aviation off the ground (ha!), that doesn’t mean they adopted their slang.

    “That Smarts!” (That hurts!)

“Blimey!” (Insert various Christ/Yikes/Fuck exclamations here)

“That bloke over there” (Bloke being very British specific and by extension UK)

“I’m seeing sweet Fanny Adams” (a very specific British phrase)

MC has not given any information that he or anyone he associated within the Japanese Naval Aircorp had anything to do with the UK. It’s so Godsdamned weird and takes me out of the story every time he uses UK phrases.

    1. while i get were you are coming from, i also find it amusing that you find this irritating in a novel about a nazi that suicide-bombs himself to magic dragon wonderland (maybe the taliban were onto something there eh?).

      1. The game got critized because it’s too “patriotic”, and we know that if it’s not murican or fish n’ chips patriotism then it’s bad. So they must have done some changes in the localization?

    2. true that, that’s the localization problem. like who the f use Feet as measurements or even 4 Washing Machine wide? Honorific or worse they localized the name of the character to sound western like World’s Horniest Housewife – Rikky Horne, or changing the settings while the JP dub clearly says it’s school but it kept being translated as workplace (My Yandere loves me too much!) wacky translation

  2. Pretending for a second that this story setup were real, this protagonist could’ve killed my great-grandfather, by committing suicide. In which case I wouldn’t be here to fap to Japanese hentai. But here he’s the hero. Weird to think.

    1. While i do think representing BS about RGBLights that done lately like Marvel is unnecessary, but this here is made-up story. Like West Taiwan boycotting every Ai Kayano works, Tanjiro earrings, stupid beyond belief. It’s a fiction and it doesn’t do anything beside similarity. Let it go boomer, it’s like they supporting any of that. Just like Russia with their neo-nazi BS

      1. Pretty sure they were speaking a more philosophical imaginary thought and weren’t really being too political or trying to say it is insensitive or any of that other bs
