9 -Nine- Episode 1

Shiromitsugawa, a run-of-the-mill college town that has launched several failed attempts to drum up tourism and revitalize itself, including sponsoring a high-budget-but-poorly-written anime based on local folklore. A storm is about to descend on this sleepy town.

We follow Kakeru Niimi, a man who can be a bit curt at times but who has a strong sense of responsibility and a kind heart. Kakeru’s ordinary life is thrown into chaos after the local shrine’s sacred relic shatters. In the wake of this event, several young men and women awaken to superhuman abilities.

What was once a run-of-the-mill life in a run-of-the-mill town soon turns into a quest to track down a superpowered serial killer before they can strike again.

  1. Eh, why didn’t I get any H scenes? Is there a patch that I need to download or something? It completely skipped them. Or did I pick the wrong choices?

    1. Nevermind, they showed up after I reinstalled the game. I guess the lack of H-scenes is probably why I didn’t find Miyako all that interesting. She felt like a bland waifu character. Then again, if you need H-scenes to make a character interesting, is it really any good to begin with? Sora on the other hand was a really fun character. I looked forward to interactions with her much more than with Miyako. So, glad the next episode is her route.

  2. So i downloaded it but for some reason when i start the game i dont get a savedata folder so i cants save the game. Tried making my own but didnt help most likely missing some files or something. episode 2 works fine so i was wondering if i could just copy those files and use them for episode one but thought it would be best to post here and hear what u have to say first.

  3. I enjoyed the playthrough. Great artwork in general and so were the soundtracks, but the amount of tracks felt limited as sometimes I felt the soundtracks were used at wrong timings.

I thought the plot was decent with the mysterious element playing a big role, so it was a little bit of a let down to see the plot end for episode one like that, but I guess it was expected since this probably only serves as the introduction to the grand plot.

Characters were for the most part okay. Personal favourite would be Sora and I loved her voice actor’s performance. The chemistry between the siblings is my personal highlight. My only complaint about the characters that comes to my mind is that I got a little annoyed about how MC and Miyako at times kept on thinking that they were not good enough for their respective partner. It felt like it sometimes ruined the atmosphere(?) of the H-scenes.

Looking forward to the next two parts! (which hopefully won’t take an eternity :/)

  4. Thank you SO much for posting this. But is it possible if you can also post Flowers -Le Volume sur Automne-? My heart would die if you do- (ಥ益ಥ;)

  5. Thank you very much for making the game available, seriously. It would be possible for you to bring these games Miboujin Nikki: Akogare in the Year and Oku-sama wa Moto Yariman – Bait? These are my passion

  6. Hey admin, can you upload “Serment – Contract with a Devil” soon? It recently released and since it has Yuri in it it seems interesting. 🙂

      1. Not a MangaGamer release basically and there was no precedent for fan translations to do that anyway

And just my opinion, the censoring obtrusiveness is about average, not on the extreme end to avoid any possible legal trouble but you know how it is, required to a certain extent

To answer your question about the episodic status, episode 2 is out in JP only (on vncg if you want, not the prequel (aka this one) though) while episode 3 is JP release for april this year, not that I could tell you if episode 3 is the last or not, I’ll just say you’ll be waiting a long time for any conclusion to this or not.

I wonder how long the episodic trend will last though
