Kakeru lost his older sister five years ago. He tries to get back to normal life, but he still lives a vacant life. He has a childhood friend, Yuka, who goes to the same high school. She always tries to cheer him up and he gradually gets better.
One day all of a sudden, the sky turns red and the moon becomes black. Everyone besides Kakeru and Yuka disappears and monsters start roaming the streets. Quest Failed is an episodic adult visual novel currently in development, focusing on the journey of an aspiring adventurer, and the various creatures he encounters in his quests; of which he ultimately succumbs to each time.
What starts as a series of failed quests for the poor adventurer–and the various monsters that seem to tag along with him whether he likes it or not with each subsequent failure–soon spirals into something greater as he stumbles upon a village in flames, an undead horde, and a mysterious girl commanding said zombies.

After long journeys via world lines, Okabe returned to his daily life, albeit crushed by the regret and misery of not being able to save “her.”
While helping out in a college seminar in order to finish off what “she” had already started, he comes across Professor Alexis Leskinen and assistant Hiyajo Maho, who were both on the same team and school as “her.” There, he discovers “Amadeus,” a system still in the stages of development that can store human memories inside computers.
Okabe was told that the Amadeus had “her” memories stored inside, and was requested by Professor Leskinen to cooperate with him as an Amadeus tester by means of conversing with “her” through a monitor. The system was inputted with “her” memories before “she” had ever met Okabe.
