Shiny Days

Setsuna starts doing part-time during the summer break at the popular seaside cafe Radish even though she isn’t used to being a waitress. It is because Makoto, who she secretly has feelings for, lives nearby and she might happen to meet him. Instead, she has a disastrous first meeting with Inori, who ends up rooming with her. Basically a remake of Summer Days with the addition of a new heroine: Inori.

  5. For Me, for some reason, Parts 1, 2, 60/61, 64/65/66, 67/68/72, 74/76, &77/78 were the Fastest to Download, only takes a Few Hours.

    But when selecting all the files and using the test function on 7z the program combined all the working files into the first download, hopefully not a glitch in 7z with .rar files, if the antiviris picked up the checker as virus go to realtime scanning and make an exception for the file that you need to either restore or unzip again…

    as for running, border-less is recommended for glitch bypass on main game try comparability mode for Windows 7 or Vista, then as administrator and reduced color mode in that compounding order separately. Have A Good Time! Friends…

    1. i can say you that i had the same problem, i did 3 things, first installed using the second setup that is in PART 2, second, if you patch DO NOT run the batch file as admin, third after reading forums and solutions i must admit that Borderless Gaming solved the issue, another thing, in Win 10 game crash, in Win 8 if you have standard W8 crash if you have Classic Shell NO. Before someone ask NO this game do require applocale or Jap settings as it is but after patching is better as 3 switches are untranslated in the UI, better safe than sorry

    Yes, I paid.

    For those who want to download faster, use Tor browser for it. You just go to the download page and download but where you see the countdown, right click that, click inspect element, then edit as HTML where it’s highlighted, set that to 0, click on a different line of HTML code (to save it), then fill out the captcha, download, click save file (Not open with) when it prompts you. Between downloads you will have to click the green onion (to the left of the address bar) then click where it says(Make sure you’re still on the downloadani.me page, I usually do this afer the download started but before i close the page) “New Tor circuit for this site” then go to the next file.

    My format is horrible, i know, someone please feel free to repost this in an edited and more readable format.

    I’m able to start the download of 7 files by the time the would have reset if you were downloading this normally. Enjoy~

    1. Wow thanks man, that works like a charm.
      To clarify let me try to dumb it down a litte:
      Download Tor Browser, use it to go to the downloadani pages. Proceed until you see the page where you need to enter the code. right click the countdown (yes specifically the timer) “inspect object”, now a window opens with a lot of text, one line is highlighted by default, here you see the timer running. Rightclick this line “edit html” and change the time to 0. Close the window, enter the code and download. Now you can also start the next download right away by opening the next download link and clicking on the green onion in the top left selecting “create new channel for this site”.
      There you go, all downloads start right away.

  15. Hello, I have an issue with saving, I cant save at all, I “create” the save file in the saving menu, I write the name of the file and accept but no file is created; and when I close and re-open the game is like I’ve never played at all

      1. Actually I just figured it out from a troubleshooting website for the game:

        “Problem 1) “Saving my game isn’t working!” JAST actually caught this one right before the codes went out. The game saves data to the install folder. That’s a big no-no these days in game development because the Program Files folders are read-only in modern versions of windows for security reasons. While we can blame 0verflow for releasing a game in 2012 with that oversight, JAST also forgot to configure their own installer to avoid the issue. The solution? Install the game somewhere else that isn’t read-only (I have a “visual novels” folder I made on my C: drive just for VNs because of this) or if you do install it to Program Files, right click the game shortcut and click “Run as Administrator” every time you wish to run it.”

  16. Ok I downloaded the 78 parts, now I have 3 files, setup.exe, the link to this page, and the Datachecker.exe. My problem is that when I run the setup it asks me for disk #2 and all the files in the data checker say BAD except for setup.exe, what can I do?

      1. If I remember correctly, you eject the game from your virtual drive and then select the second ISO and put it in the same virtual drive.

    2. You either didnt extract it correctly, or one of the parts got corrupted and you’ll have to redownload it.
      Besides the link, the datachecker and “setup.exe”, there should be “setup.2” etc. up to “setup.16”. Don’t bother trying to install it if the datachecker says any of the files is faulty or missing.

    I can’t seem to play this game. When I try to start it, it takes me back to the menu screen again. I got Japanese locale too. I don’t know whats wrong with it.

      1. Just found out that anti-virus moved some of the files into the virus chest. It worked like a charm after I restored them. (Only took me two years to find them.)

    1. Those are audio tracks and game text files. You literally can’t put any executable code (including viruses) in those. This is a false positive – send them to Norton for manual verification.

        1. Well, 16gb is not much, with decent connection its not gonna take long – the problem is that free mirror, without sub you have to download it partly, which takes about 7 min between each part.

          Anyway, im glad Admin upload those games, i mean man thanks and keep up good work!^^

  38. My Anti-virus keeps blocking the game, I turned it off to install it and it worked, but when I turned it back on and tried to execute the game it blocked the game from starting up and vaulted it saying it was Malware 🙁

  49. I’m surprised noone commented on this game yet, compared to any other game that appears on the site.

    I hope someona will read this nd knows the solution for my problem. When i try to install the game it stops about halfway, and says
    – unknown error occured when accessing “installation folder”\packs\movie02.gpk –

    I have no idea about what to do, and it is frustrating, since it toook a lot of time downloading those 78 chunks of data.

      1. You need better antivirus then, as that file is a movie file. No executable code inside – impossible to put any virus in.

  62. i need help i can’t save the game, when go into ‘save’ and click on any of the slots, it puts up the ‘enter save title’ thing, then whether i type something or not, the screen flashes black and theres no save in any of the slots. even when i close the game and open it again , i have no saves and have to start all over again.     1. Where did they say there would definitely be a patch? Because the game was censored by law. There would be no point in censoring it and releasing a patch.

          1. Yeah I used to download at 200-250kbps, but right now download speed caps at 50kbps…so the server is overloaded and I should wait for a while or something? :c

  83. Did the free user download speed receive a massive downgrade? I have 10MB speed and I was able to download 2 parts at 200kb/s each at the same time, now with only one it runs at 50kb/s if I’m lucky, if not it fluctuate between 20 and 45. Was this really a downgrade or is the server juts having issues?

    I love the MILF’s in this game and they left out a few here and there i would like to see routes for.

    Not sure if i like Youko or Manami better both are great in there own ways

    Also is it just me or does this game work 100% better in full screen mode.I tried playing in window mode but kept getting constant crashes turned full screen mode on played it for like 12hrs with no crashes at all

      1. Thats a known bug on Manami route you MUST save before the credits roll or it will corrupt your save. The only way to fix the game after is deleting the save and starting anew otherwise youll be stuck

  89. I’ve been following a Japanese walkthrough but I can’t access several endings after Setsuna goes to Paris. Choices that are supposed to appear simply don’t show up and then I get locked into an ending with Youko and Sekai or Setsuna punishing Makoto for cheating. Does anyone know if the content removal Jast did is responsible for this?

I have been waiting year or two for it, but I have a problem. the problem is that start up is fine, but when I finish selecting setsunas (sorry if I spelt her name wrong)outfit screen goes black then I get a pop up that says first 1.00 then 1.0 and the game goes back to main menu. any help would be appreciated.

    1. Turns out the problem can be solved by not using the fullscreen mode.
      However the problem stops when I use alt + enter to go into fullscreen mode instead of the menu option.

    1. It’s similar to how Sekai/Kotonoha bar worked in School Days. Basically it shows Setsuna’s affection toward you, and it fills up, depending on your choices. It needs to reach certain value for some good endings.

  106. Had two Setsuna Endings till now, one where she left for Paris and Makoto gives her up and one that is basicly the same with the difference that Makoto chase after her (Setsuna Happy End).

    But both times I didnt even encounter Inori, anyone know what I must do to get to her? Better where a walkthrough, Eng/Jap are both okay, but didnt found either, only a flowchart, but without labels, so dont helps much.

    1. Doesn’t matter. Those scenes are censored with a black screen or just skipped ahead. They can’t be replayed either unless you get SysMenuSD.dll from the jp version and switch it with the one in your install directory.

      Anyone know how to extract and repack files from a .gpk?

  113. Was waiting for this, only the fact that Setsuna (best character in SChool days I would say) is main heroine makes it worthwhile.

    Good has really big size, most likely because it is fully animated and has 38 Endings, compared with School Days HQs 22 Endings.

    Infos are from School Days Wiki and most likely from Japanese Version, so hope that is still correct.

  120. For anyone having issues.

    When the game installs the install folder is read only, change this by right clicking the game’s folder and deselect read only. then apply to all files and sub-folders.

    this should solve any issues

    1. You also have to run it as an administrator because the save folder is in “C:\Program Files (x86)” instead of documents, and only administrators can write to that folder.

      1. It’s because that content is cut out of this version, because it’s not legal in the US. It’s considered Virtual Child Pornography.
        I’ve heard talks of a restoration patch for that content though. I don’t even care if it’s translated or not, if i’m gonna enjoy a game I wanna enjoy all of it, so I’ll put this on the backburner until I learn japanese and get that version or this one gets restored.

        1. It is actually legal in the US. The issue is it’s not legal in Canada and the UK, so Jast couldn’t sell the game outside the US if they didn’t cut it.

    1. Probably just bugs. School Days HQ was like that at first IIRC. Run it as an administrator and hope there was a patch for the Japanese version and that Jast will make it available here (they just translate the subtitles, they don’t do any bug fixing).

    1. From what I remember the game plays mostly on Setsuna POV and at certain parts it will swtich to Makoto where you make your choices.

      Been years when I looked into this game and have yet to finsih DL this one to see if I’m right xD

    1. Downloadani is fine.. Is it so hard to close the ads when they pop up? I downloaded over 70 files as a freeuser and never had problems with Malware or other stuff.

  145. Is anyone else having trouble saving? I cant seem to get it to. I can click on the option, and name the file, but it never saves. Any idea what might be wrong?

  147. Sometimes certain files fail to load on the users end. I downloaded parts 5 and 6 with no problems but other files took a few tries before they downloaded. Just skip them for now and download them later.

    1. It’s due to host limitations. Free users can download 2 files at once; anything more and you get 404 error. Just wait a bit and they will load fine.

  151. I don’t know about this one. The last game was really depressing. Characters were interesting as a wooden board. The characters act like 6 years olds in love yet they want to fuck like rabbits. Plus, Motoko might be the worst protagonist that ever existed. If this is the same as the last game then I won’t bother…

    ( I liked schoold days for what it did, meaning confronting a selfless main character with a harem kind of setting and let that spin of in a more realistic way. Yet i don’t think i want to play another one on those)

    Is that still the case here, or has the writer learned the magic word called “consistency” for this one?

    1. If you didn’t like the type of drama found in School Days, then yes Shiny Days should be better. It’s got a different tone as far as I know. Characters don’t act the same way they did in School Days.

    1. It’s not CP laws, those are still protected by 1st amendment, provided they pass Miller test. In my personal opinion, JAST would be able to successfully defend themselves on that ground – the question is whether they would be able to afford it.

      The people “working” on patch are JAST themselves. It should be out soon(tm).

  169. I was just curious, do you need to play School Days to understand this one, or is it unnecessary? Just curious cause I can’t get it to work for the life of me, and don’t feel like re-downloading 50 links just to try again unless it’s needed or highly advised, specially since I’ve already done it twice before.

  178. Listen, Admin… Is there any possible way I could convince you to release the patch (when it’s available, I know it;’s not out yet) as a separate download? I just think that would be better for all of us, considering the size of the game. I mean I doubt you would want to have to reupload this entire game with the patch applied.

    Anyway, thanks again for all the work you do – especially for this game. I’ve been waiting for this one for quite some time.

      1. “Australian dictatorship” (jumping dolphin pictures during one of h-scenes) was a troll by one fantranslation group, when they released first translation patch for Hoshizora no Memoria.

        Both this game and Starless had to have certain “questionable” content cut by JAST, in order to stay safe around obscenity laws. Let’s just say that Kokoro in this game looks really young (even if “officially” she’s 18…), and last thing an official company might want is to get involved in fight with moral crusaders, who might want to score some cheap PR points before elections – As a result they release the games with objectionable stuff censored, then give out uncensor patch on “unofficial channels” – as they say “The wolves are sated, and the sheep are intact”…

            One of translators working for MangaGamer got recently detained by customs for importing “obscene” mangas.

          2. He is actually a programmer not a translator but yes I can confirm that he was detained and awaits a resolution to his crime of loving the lolis.

    1. VNDB lists it as “medium (10-30 hours)”. Reason for size this big (This is new record on here) is because it’s entirely animated, kinda like interactive anime.
