You awaken in a decrepit old mansion.
A woman with eyes of jade stands before You, informing You that You are the Master of the house, and she Your Maid. However, You have no memories, no concept of self—or, indeed, any certainty that You are even alive.
The Maid invites You to join her on a journey through the mansion’s lifeless halls, to behold the numerous tragedies that have befallen its residents. She suggests that among them, perhaps You will find some trace of Yourself.
Beyond the first door lies the year 1603.
It is an era of unparalleled beauty, where art and theatre flourish. Roses bloom abundantly in the garden where the inseparable Rhodes siblings play, and though they appear to be free of worry and strife… not everyone is content to see them happy.
Beyond the second door lies the year 1707.
In this era, the mansion lies in ruins, and a beast dwells within. He claims to yearn for a life of serenity, but it is not long before he yields to his innate savagery and a massacre ensues.
Beyond the third door lies the year 1869.
In this technologically advanced era, people are always on the move. The mansion’s master is an ambitious businessman who has invested in the rail industry. However, his obsession with wealth and power leads him to neglect and mistreat his wife.
Beyond the fourth door lies the year 1099.
The Maid tells You that this is the final tale. In this era, You see a young man who claims to be cursed and a girl with white hair, called Giselle, who has been branded a witch and marked for death.
Having borne witness to these four tragedies, each set in a different time and place, You are now free to choose whether You wish to end Your story here… or press on.
But there are those who would say, “You were able to bear them because they weren’t your tragedies.”
Just bought this today off Mangagamer. Thank you for posting it so I had a chance to see for myself, before buying, how the acclaim was well-deserved. This story blew me away
great vn! different but great! wow!
Is this the demo or the whole game?
Hey admin, can you upload the 1.1 and 1.2 patches of Fata Morgana? Pretty please??
Yeah it would really be good if you upload patches admin.
I just finished this : that was mind-blowing. A must play ! Thanks for uploading it !
Is it possible to play this on android phone? I have kirikiroid2, but i need xp3 file. My gpu died, i can’t use my pc..
Iam not even not even done with the story but this vn is just sometimes throwing me off the cliff on how plot twists and mind blowing it could go. i have fallen in love. also the art the ost the game all over is just amazing… *rest in fanciness
Character portrait are good. Like the background artwork. Music is fantstic. Love the story.
Overall, my 3rd VN and highly recommend.
So far only found 4 endings, none of which I would call the “true” ending.
Maybe I should take notes next playthrough
Purchase the game from Steam if you like this.
I personally think this is a great visual novel and it has a fantastic soundtrack. Just be prepared for an emotional roller coaster and a lot of tragedies. Also, it’s a long visual novel even for fast readers – so there’s that, too.
I just started this, and this might be a stupid question, but how do you save? I can’t see any menu to save the game.
Nevermind, I figured it out. For anybody who is curious, moving the mouse over the lower right corner of the screen brings up a menu.
Just finished this.
I think this one needs to be given more attention; it is really, really good.
Well….that was quite a journey i just went through..I suggest everyone should go on the journey this VN will take ya! I can’t remember the last time a VN made me so excited and left such a mark on me soul! Buying this on me next paycheck thats for certain.
In the case of “House of Fata Morgana” size is really not all that matters. The Game is in fact REALLY BIG and LONG. Those 4 Stories are their own, but then again they may overlap with each other as you progress their stories. Its a very dark and gothic like game that doesnt shy from the most emotional forbidden things you can imagine. Its a masterpiece in my eyes. Everyone who likes playing VN should give this a chance.
Sounds great. Thx.
Like tokyo babel, even though this has no sexual content, the summary to this seems extremely interesting. But unlike Tokyo Babel, this is less than one gig, which makes it even more appealing. This is a must play game right here.
I agree that this vn is interesting judging from the synopsis, but I take it that you prefer if it’s low in size..!??
I personally will be more interested if this vn is quite big in size. Bigger usually means more contents, stories, routes, endings, op/ed videos, animated sprites or cutscenes, possibly H scenes, etc.
The game is old (2010) AND by a small amateur team (their very first game according to VNDB).
On top of that, its on Steam! So if you like the game, you can direct your money here : http://store.steampowered.com/app/303310
(No, I’m not part of the devteam or anything, I’m just one of those weirdos who thinks if people want to spend their money, let them.)
Nothing wrong with that thought process, I generally buy games i find enjoyable. and im sure alot of other people do to.
Size does not indicate anything, see Saya no Uta where 200MB of data can chain you into your seat.
HAHA, that made me sound stupid/weird, w/o specifing didn’t it, lol. I meant I like the small size, because its convenient, for my 500gig computer, which is running low on space.
And this game is probably longer than the size suggest, because it has no voice acting which probably saves up some megabytes. The no voice acting part, combined w/no sexual content is definitely gonna be a turn off for some people.
