Yo-Jin-Bo The Bodyguards

The story focuses on the main character Sayori, who is a modern high school girl. She finds a mysterious pendant while out helping with an archeological dig (she’s in the high school history club, and so is forced to attend), and later has a strange dream - it seems that the scene is from about a hundred and fifty years ago, during the last days of the samurai, and she sees Hatsuhime, princess of the Mochizuke clan, assassinated!

It gets even more strange when the scene changes, and Sayori realizes that she’s in Hatsuhime’s body; that she has somehow seen how things were, and the situation has somehow “reset”, giving her the chance to avert the princess’s terrible fate.

Site is generally about visual novels and other similar games, I chose this domain name just because it was free - there's plenty of games with no ero content in "downloads" section.
As for otome games - YoJinBo is the only one released in English that i know of. The market for such games is really small, so i don't think you will see others anytime soon.

Crimson Empire ~Circumstances to Serve a Noble~ and its followup Crimson Royal are very good otome games, though I believe only CE has been fantranslated so far.

As far as I can tell, there are no ero otome visual novels at all, translated or otherwise.
I've played several from the perspective of female characters, but it's usually only temporary, due to a sex change or the story has nothing to do with relationships and the main character just happens to be female.

There are actually a LOT of otome erogames! Just none available in English.

Yo-Jin-Bo actually is borderline one in the Japanese version; Hirameki would often pick up the licenses for eroge and remove the ero content in their releases, or otherwise censor them.

BTW, if you shop for otome visual novels, erogame or otherwise, they'll often be listed in the "boys love" section of shops despite the fact they're straight games. I suppose it's due to the assumption that girls are the main market of BL games.

The game loaded fine, but I'm having a slight problem with a small chunk. I was able to achieve all endings except Bo's. His bad endin was fine, but the last part of his good ending won't load for me. The game allows me to save just before the chapter, but when I try loading it the game just shuts down. -3- I can't get the extra scene now. So sad.

Ok... I got it to work... But I can't seem to get the extra now... I got all the CGs (except the one in the extra), I dunno about the BGMs...

I downloaded and everything's fine except, i'm only getting bad endings. i tried everything and i still get only bad endings... why is that?

maybe i'm just unlucky and ended up with a bugged file?

i'm getting my brother to check it out since he's a computer genius, but if a solution is already found, that'd be great!

Uhmm...what am i supposed to do after downloading it. I can't join the files using HJ Split. So how did you guys manage to install it? By simply unzipping the RAR files and then mounting it on DAEMON?

I need some help with getting Mon-Mon and Yo.
Every time I try to get them I die in "A Fork in the Road" - and I have no idea why is it.
I talked with Yo (while we should be resting), then talked with him (while we were walking) and checked him out in onsen.
Then I chose Muneshige's plan and I died.
With Mon-Mon same.

But not only this. I've tried a little more than 16 combinations and still I die when I choose plan (Ittosai's or Muneshige's).

Is it a bug or sth?

Can someone help me, please?

To get on Mon-Mon and Yo's path, you have to choose 'Leave it alone' and 'Shook it off' for the first two choices the game asks you. Then just play the game as you normally would when trying to get on the character's path from that point on. (Oh, also choose Muneshige's path. I think the only time you don't choose his path is when you're trying to get Ittosai.)

Anyway, hope that helps.

A good game, pretty funny. There are some Japanese puns that are changed for the localization, but some humor/jokes are intact and not localized. Some of the CG art is a bit weird though, particularly a CG of Hatsuhime (Sayori) taking a bath, the CG makes it seems like a male body with Hatsuhime's head a bit. It just looks somehow off and unnatural. But overall, the game is ok, I found myself bursting out laughing at some points. I would recommend it to fans of otome games.

I'm extremely confused...how do I download the game? I downloaded both parts, but neither could be extracted from winRAR. I looked at the FAQ of this website but it didn't really seem to help me, unless I need to download DAEMON to play the game? However I'd prefer not to download it if it's unessary, as this is really the only game I especially want to download. Do I have to combine the parts? Do something special with extraction, etc? I'm also very inexperienced with winRAR itself...

You can search "FAQ" at the top of the screen and then scroll down for how to mount with the older version of DAEMON tools. I commented on how to try it with the newer version or Lite.

"otome" itself means maiden/princess etc. But in this context it means games aimed at girls - usually with female protagonist with male characters having their routes.
