Lute Hende is a recent graduate of the Edellant Kingdom’s Knight Academy. Unfortunately, due to his not being a very good fighter Lute graduated last in his class and is generally regarded as a good for nothing by his peers and teachers. As a result he’s assigned to the backwater border town of Boan, where they believe he’ll remain largely out of sight and out of mind. However, an encounter with a beatiful and deadly succubus will lead him to uncovering a conspiracy against the crown. Dealing with this will only be the first step in Lute’s rise not only amongst his fellow knights but eventually into the upper ranks of the kingdom itself.

There's a problem where the game screen will randomly go black and no images will be displayed. The problem occurs on Windows 10 and Windows 7, so if anyone knows how to fix it the solution would be appreciated.

Probably because the hentai of this is called kyonyuu fantasy.
Kyonyuu supposedly translates to giant tit or giant tits, but they went with funbag instead.
Works for me.

Played it now. Have to say I'm disappointed.

Pros:
+ IMO good art
+ If you like boobjobs, this is your game
+ If you like big tits, you'll find plenty here

Cons:
- No animations
- If you don't like boobjobs, this is not your game
- Camera position for anything else than boobjobs is terribad.
- Probably around 90% of CG is boobjobs
- If you don't like big tits, too bad. That's all you'll find. Most of them unrealistically so.

I wouldn't call no animations a con, it's mostly a subjective gripe. As for the fact that you'll only find big boobs, I only have to say: DUH, the Japanese name for this game is Kyonyuu fantasy. A quick google search could tell you that large breasts is what the game is about. Any other expectations were just silly.

Objectively huh? I can't agree with that at all. I've seen quite a few eroge where animations have ruined the atmosphere of the scene/mood. You seem to have a casual bit of personal bias when it comes to animated scenes (which is fine, that's your prerogative.) But it can't be said that it's an objective complaint.

That being said, I had low expectations when I began reading this, and have been pleasantly surprised with how much I have enjoyed it thus far. I sympathize with your disappointment, not every work of art is a fit for everyone.

Yes, objectively. It's pretty much impossible to argue otherwise. Of course animation can be bad, but it's because the animation in question was poorly done or didn't fit the scene (just as can happen with non-animated scenes), not because a still picture is better.

They actually released this as a final product? This isn't even on the level of occasional bug, this black screen happens even without skipping. Skipping just makes it happen much much faster. It prevents you from saving or loading or doing anything really, except continuing until you reach a choice where it will proceed to go full retard on you. The "tester" on the MangaGamer blog even went on and on about what a great game it is. I felt like asking him exactly how did he manage to reach those scenes, considering how I am stuck in Boans, probably for good at this point.

I really pity the people who paid money for this, since I am the type that buys a product after testing it out.

The problem doesn't seem to affect all players. I myself have never run into that problem despite running it on Windows 10 along with a crap grip of other programs and skipping some of the longer sex scenes. I also purchased and downloaded within the first hour it was posted.

At first I thought it might have been the "crack" but I do no another buyer who said he encountered that problem.

Good grief the writing here is just staggeringly awful. The setting is just completely dropped right out the window. A knight academy, what? Japan's obsession for this shit is getting ridiculous.

And just a few sentences in we get breasts being described as atomic. Yup, our middle-ages protagonist knows about the atom, and describes giant breasts as something minuscule because he's also a moron.

And of course, once more, our protagonist is utterly and completely worthless, yet will somehow through some bullshit get everyone crazy about him, because screw competence and hard-work, have some retarded wish fulfillment bullshit instead.

Just for argument's sake, I will play devil's advocate. This is from the point of view from start to Boans, since I am pratically stuck there. How exactly is he worthless? I mean, sure he kinda sucks in the Technique aspect of things, but if that was all that mattered, Motaire, aka Mister Marcissist Think-with-my-cock, would be the protagonist. Our protagonist is not the best, but he doesn't go around fucking with people, he takes a chillax attitude and doesn't take advantage of people. He even stopped the rebellion at Boans by pretending to be the Prefect then exposing everyone. Also, by atmoic, I assume he means nuclear, as in nuclear explosion.

I just a bug where I tired to save a bunch of time at the same slot at different points in the story and then it delete my existing saved data. I turned off the game and my saved dated was gone and when I restarted the game and went through the story and try to save it won't let me. Any help? Rance was created in 1989 and mostly as contrast to the bland faceless self-inserts who made 99% of eroge protagonists at the time. He's less relevant now that the scene evolved but he's still a pretty memorable character.

That, and AliceSoft games tend to have pretty good gameplay.

Already at the MC becoming commander, and still fine so far.
No encounter any black screen yet, effect and delay in settings on, can skip text just fine, no problem so far, played on win 7..
Again, maybe some should try using japanese version 100% save file, while some translated games have some bugs issue, dunno why but original version save file can fix those bugs, maybe that will help (probably, as I always googling then using complete save just to bypass locked route/so I can play any route for any kind of VN with multiple endings type).

"At its core, the story is your usual rags to riches plot, but the execution feels anything but cliché, what with its little twists and turns. It’s full of suspense and conflict, and needless to say, when the ending comes, it feels earned."

- Really? Wait what? All I can see is Deux ex machina.

The story is dismal. There is nothing serious about the plot or the characters. No believable personality in whole game. And the choices are all go there or stay there.
The scenes are ok I suppose although not my preference.

What would I not give for translation of one of Eushully games instead... :(

Does anyone know if Mangagamer, or other translators, are planning to translate the sequels? According to VNDB there is a Kyonyuu Fantasy 2, a Kyonyuu Fantasy 3 and a bunch of Gaiden games that are supposed to be direct sequels to this one.

Because aside from the occasional black screen I quite enjoyed this game. And definitely wouldn't mind more games in this setting starring giant boobs.

i was not expecting much other than all nukige and was going to skim through it, but when i started it i can tell there are just so much more effort put into this game than a mere nukige. Boobs fetish are not my thing, but man so many scenes and on top of it there is actual PLOT, like the real kind of "plot" aka story here. I thought the same too… i’m not a fan of Nukige nor kyonyuu… everytime he talks abouts it, I just skimmed it… but other than that the game got good story especially since I got True End on my first try…

this main character is better than any character that has an *outside*(succubus) help or have a certain kind of special power(his hands) like 2 other vn I found here that using it for evil… he is an honest-to-goodness MC

"Consistency" is the magic word I think. Lute is a nice guy and stays that way during sex. But also the story stays on routes. Where it doesn't work is Majikoi for example. First a love story then a hard core eroge. As if somebody hit a switch and said "well, fuck the emotional garbage. lets them pork allready the shit out of it". Protagonist personality cracks down this way and the whole story will feel alien.

Awesome game, I initially just thought it would be another normal nukige. I’m glad I read the vndb description carefully and thought to try it. The story is pretty good in a few ways. It reminded me a little of Duel Savior. The structure of the routes is similar. Either way it’s pretty awesome game, expecially the Harem ending :D

I think I got about 10 images before the game became nothing but a black screen and text.
So I guess you could call this a not-so-visual novel.
I even tried to go to the title screen to see if its just a bug, and all that did was break the game.
So its a half-working visual novel that got translated for whatever reason. Thats just sad.

Just downloaded. Most of the routes work fine but the commander route .. the really long one gets lots of black sprites and crashes and stuff that kick in about halfway through the route. Even with japanese locale on.

Which is really frustrating as this is one of the longest most interesting routes.

When I run the game all I get is a white screen. Please help I am running on windows 10 and my computer is set to japanese locale.

Game works fine when set to US region on both my Win10 computers.

Also it might be better to use 'Locale Emulator' instead of switching your computer's region. 'Locale Emulator' is a third party update of AppLocale since Microsoft dumped it. This saves you the hassle of switching your computer regions back and forth for different programs.

For all those who are wondering about the black screen, go to "Funbag Fantasy.exe", right-click it, and press properties. Then, go to the 'compatibility' tab, click on run this program in compatibility mode for:, and select Windows Vista Service Pack 2.
Worked for me and quite afew others.

There isn't a way to avoid the scenes with it. If it makes the scenes where it occurs are magical clones of the MC along with the original.

Finally finishing this game after almost half a year of intermittent play and I can honestly say it was totally worth it. But don't be fooled by the awful and weird-looking cover. I remember having second thoughts about downloading this, but boy was I in for a nice surprise. Characters are great and the setting was right up my alley, considering I'm a sucker for medieval-like stories. Also,that plot was out of this world - lots of backstabbing here. What I did complain mostly about was the sorta bland endings and the surplus number of sex scenes ( I would have shortened or even halved them ).
