I wonder why these gay visual novels always have a complicated plot... at least the ones that are translated... they tend to be mystery/thriller or something different. Not complaining but sometimes you just want a slice-of-life story. The closest I know is like, Camp Buddy, maybe, and Gakuen Heaven? But Gakuen Heaven isn't 18+ and it reminds me of otome novels (so I'm not sure about the writing).
