Clannad HD

After the death of his mother, Tomoya Okazaki—a guarded delinquent student at Hikarizaka High School—struggles to not only make sense of the abusive relationship he has with his alcoholic father, but also find meaning in his life. While on his way to class one morning, he meets a mystifying girl named Nagisa. She is a delinquent like him, but only because she is repeating her senior year, unlike the perpetually tardy Okazaki. From their brief encounter, Nagisa decides they should be friends, and enlists Tomoya’s help to revive the school drama club. Not being busy in any way, he decides to join in. Along the way, the two make friends with many other students and try to find both solace and belonging in their endeavors.

All visuals have been upgraded to 1280x960 for the Steam release of CLANNAD.

Well, as the name implies - biggest difference if in improved graphics resolution - up to 1280x960 in this version. Additionally, the translation is supposedly improved compared to previous fantranslated version. Also, they added "dangopedia" - encyclopedia of sorts, that's supposed to explain some terms that western players may be unfamiliar with.

Can confirm the translation is MUCH better than it was in the original. It's not perfect but reads much smoother and is a better experience overall.

"What happened"? I mean, he's uploading what's out and available. When more games with sexual content come out with translations, he'll upload them. But recently, a lot of VNs without sexual content have been taking off. Which is actually a good thing, because it opens up people who have reservations about the pornographic side of visual novels to the medium as a whole.

That aside, thank you so much, Admin! I've been waiting on this to come out without the bugs of the original fan translation. You're awesome, man! Keep doing what you do <3

There were no sexual content in Clannad to begin with. Tomoyo After is 18+ spin-off of sorts, but Key's h-scenes writing is notoriously bad, so you're not missing much.

I will assume you are either new to reading VN or only read eroge.Clannad never and I mean NEVER had any sexual content.Nothing was cut from the game. Despite the fact that I do not like sekai as a publisher, this time they released what is essentially one of the greatest visual novels of all time. And this version is a vast improvement (the fan translation was subpar and unreadable at some points, so much so that even the translator admitted that it was bad). In the future please do proper research before discrediting other peoples work.

I wouldn't say it's a solid top 5 but it's more a top 10 around the 7~10 mark being generous. There are much better VNs out there than Clannad that aren't even translated yet or will probably never be translated at all.

I agree a little, but this VN is the only one that will make you cry buckets of tears(like me, either in the VN or anime version, i cried a lot!), so this VN worth the buy on steam, it one of thoses storys that make history, and i say what i allways tell to my friends to recomend this VN:

1st is if the side characters other than the main heroine have their own story that's different or similar to the anime adaptaion.

2nd if the VN is anything like the movie if there is any other VN that are like Clannad?

Koihime Musou is like Clannad as well. It's a Romance of the Three Kingdoms adaptation, but vastly different than the anime.

There are other similar visual novels from the same people who created Clannad(Key, Visual Arts). Kanon and Air were made before Clannad, and One ~To the Radiant Season~ was made by the same people before they actually formed Key.

Kanon and One are the most similar, having slice-of-life high school students with 5-6 girls/routes, with bits of supernatural phenomena having impacts on some girls. Kanon and Air have anime adaptations as well (Kanon has two, technically, but the 2011 version is considered the better version)
