After the death of his mother, Tomoya Okazaki—a guarded delinquent student at Hikarizaka High School—struggles to not only make sense of the abusive relationship he has with his alcoholic father, but also find meaning in his life. While on his way to class one morning, he meets a mystifying girl named Nagisa. She is a delinquent like him, but only because she is repeating her senior year, unlike the perpetually tardy Okazaki. From their brief encounter, Nagisa decides they should be friends, and enlists Tomoya’s help to revive the school drama club. Not being busy in any way, he decides to join in. Along the way, the two make friends with many other students and try to find both solace and belonging in their endeavors.
All visuals have been upgraded to 1280x960 for the Steam release of CLANNAD.

I hope you can help me out, I really don't know if it's some kind of ending or something. But for me Tomoya, after talking to fuu-chan goes home, lies down and sees the snow again from the beginning. And then it goes back to the homescreen. Can someone please explain why? I need help, I am in love with the game way too much.
1st is if the side characters other than the main heroine have their own story that's different or similar to the anime adaptaion.
2nd if the VN is anything like the movie if there is any other VN that are like Clannad?
Kanon and One are the most similar, having slice-of-life high school students with 5-6 girls/routes, with bits of supernatural phenomena having impacts on some girls. Kanon and Air have anime adaptations as well (Kanon has two, technically, but the 2011 version is considered the better version)
