The story is pretty simple - Hikari (“Light”), the red haired girl that you see in an opening clip, has been kidnapped. And Rance get the mission from his boss (the bald guy) to investigate the case.
Rance is something like a detective in this story. This also turns the whole game more into a detective-like exploring than into rpg or more less rpg/strategy to which the gamers of the latter games of the series are used to. Rance isn’t alone in his job as he has a helper - 16 year old Sill. She’s actually Rance’s slave. She was from a rich family but later got kidnapped by some bandit and then auctioned as a slave. The one who bought her was of course Rance.
Now with her help you (Rance) have to solve this mystery, bring Hikari back and pay back to the ones at fault.

In the thieves hideout there's some stairs that you can't climb up unless you have the proper equipment. According to all information I could find online, I'm supposed to get "Thieves' Shoes" from a closet in another room of the hideout.
Unfortunately, no matter how many times I check, the shoes will not show up. I even tried reloading a previous save from before I even stepped into the dungeon but it didn't help.
Could anyone please put up for download a save taken immediately after obtaining the thieves' shoes?
Then Load Game and the map will be normal.
Damn.
I mean Rance 01, 02, 03.
I cannot get them anywhere. The only download I found gave me pictures of the artwork inside the case the game came in, a picture of the original japanese game disk, and a giant ass .mdf file I cannot open. >.<
