Gibo: Stepmother's Sin

My name is Yusuke Yagami. When I was a boy, I witnessed something which no one should ever see. My own mother, locked in the throes of passion with a man who wasn’t my father. Her adultery caused our happy home to come crashing down, and my father divorced her. Since those dark days, I’ve been mistrustful of what the concept of “mother” really was.

Now, after so many years, my father remarried, and suddenly, I had a new stepmother, or Gibo.

The woman my father married was not old, but young, and beautiful. When I looked at Misako-san for the first time, I felt something move inside me.

As the days went by, I found myself thinking of my new mother in ways that shocked myself.

Could I accept this beautiful woman as my mother? After all, I found out what mothers are really like the day I saw their unfaithfulness. Punishment may be necessary…

I've noticed with these older nukige(games with emphasis on sexual situations) that were linked here around mid-September(a lot of G-Collections stuff i.e. Come See Me Tonight, CSMT2, and Secret Wive's Club) that they don't work on Windows 7, even in compatibility mode for XP and installing and running as administrator. I have read elsewhere that running a virtual machine for XP or XP emulator would work, but I haven't tried it myself.

there doesn't seem to be any bug or anything and it seems quite interesting.

To those having troubles on Windows 7, try deleting the OP.avi video file from the file directory in program files, I was having troubles loading the game, I could hear the music, but once I deleted the opening movie, all was well.

Could just rename it as well to OP.old or something. Saves you the hassle if you manage to get it working later on and want to have it again.

Go and download "Matroska_Pack_Full_v1.1.2" and when you install it, make sure you click on the (plus sign/symbol) to expand it down so you can choose the codec. It should work fine after that no more black screen and you can watch the opening.

Download that program, it doesnt take up much space, read what you want to install though, i choose not to install real media format (.rm). I used that codec to watch movies, animes and so on.

I installed "Matroska Pack" but it still didn't work.
So I went and checked the opening video file of the game and it seems it's an avi format encoded with the "Intel Indeo Video" codec, more precisely "Intel Indeo Video 3.2".These are the steps I followed to make the game work:
1) I downloaded the codeck pack from here http://www.free-codecs.com/download/indeo_codec.htm and installed it.When installing choose Custom and from the list of components you are presented untick all the options except "Indeo Video 3.2 Codec"(because this is the one you need in order to play the opening video of the game;you don't need all the other stuff that is listed there).Click next to finish installing.
2) Install the game.
3) In case you installed the game before the Intel Indeo Video codec you need to uninstall the game,restart your computer and then install the game again.

In my case, after I followed all these steps and started the game,it crashed followed by a error notification from windows.I read the notification and the reason it crashed was because the game was trying to play the opening video using the LAV video codec(which I had it installed on my sytem).I uninstalled the LAV video codec and after this the game worked.

If you have CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) installed then just go to the ffdshow video decoder configuration, scroll down to Indeo 3 Format then click the Decoder drop box and select 'disabled'. The rest you can follow what Bikz mentioned and install the standalone Indeo video format installer. If you have CCCP or any other video decoder the game video will simply not play the video properly.

Try hover you mouse to the top of the screen, there you should see the Menu, Choose Graphic Mode that switch between Window Mode n Full Screen Mode.

create a shortcut for it then you right click the shortcut and select properties. Now go to the shortcut menu and select windowed, it will open in a window whenever you open from that shortcut. This is for windows 7, I don't know whether it works on vista or xp, sorry!

Whenever I try and download part two,only part two. My download speed will start around 150 kb/s then quickly drop to 30 kb/s ,While my usual download speed is 700-900 kb/s

Yea, I had the same problem. I just kept trying and randomly managed to get it over two hours. Don't even bother through rapidshare, it would reach 75 percent and drop the connection.

Hey everyone.. I need a little help.. so i downloaded all 3 .rar files of this game.. extracted all of them and the ISO that came up..then what? the setup doesn't work, clicked game start but the window vanished. the gibo application gives a black screen with "application formatting error" message. i can't install any directx. so wat could be the problem? i'm using windows xp, if that helps.. help anyone?

For those still having problems with windows 7 running the game - change screen resolution to 800x600 as well as removing the intro video from the installation folder. This happened to work perfectly for me.

hello all, for those of you with the "initializing direct draw" error and need help here it is, please note i have looked EVERY ware for a soluotion to no advail; just do this
step one disable to video card; simply pull up device manager in controle panal go to ur video card and disable it then reboot your pc
step two: simple open the game after its fully started up (ur system will look a bit ugly its running in 640x250 or so format) dont know the exact numbers! run the game and use this chance to set it to windowed ill explain later!
go to device manager and reenable ur video card! and reboot ur pc like it asks
and finaly once ur pc is up enjoy the game!

the reson for this error is your pc is to new! or to good to run it! snoby pc *kick pc* running it in windows disables direct draw!
have fun!

"Application formatting error" on startup. This may have happened because you moved/renamed your game folder after install.
Fix is fairly simple provided you have administrator rights on your PC. If you don't, just rename the folder back to what it was.
Open up the Registry Editor by typing "regedit" in the windows search box and pressing enter.
Nagivate to: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Will/gibo"
Change the "InstallDir" key to whatever your current install directory folder is and press "OK". (or just put the folder where the install directory folder says it is at and it will work)
Then just exit out of the registry editor and launch again.
