Clannad HD

Clannad HD

After the death of his mother, Tomoya Okazaki—a guarded delinquent student at Hikarizaka High School—struggles to not only make sense of the abusive relationship he has with his alcoholic father, but also find meaning in his life. While on his way to class one morning, he meets a mystifying girl named Nagisa. She is a delinquent like him, but only because she is repeating her senior year, unlike the perpetually tardy Okazaki. From their brief encounter, Nagisa decides they should be friends, and enlists Tomoya’s help to revive the school drama club. Not being busy in any way, he decides to join in. Along the way, the two make friends with many other students and try to find both solace and belonging in their endeavors.

All visuals have been upgraded to 1280×960 for the Steam release of CLANNAD.

OH MY GOD… you are the greatest and most wonderful person in the world… thank you so much…we do not deserve your kindness…do we?

  2. DovahLight says:

    Thank you so much!! <3

  3. Rodrigo Diley says:

I wanted to know the difference between the normal version and HD version

    • admin says:

Well, as the name implies – biggest difference if in improved graphics resolution – up to 1280×960 in this version. Additionally, the translation is supposedly improved compared to previous fantranslated version. Also, they added “dangopedia” – encyclopedia of sorts, that’s supposed to explain some terms that western players may be unfamiliar with.

      • Baka says:

Can confirm the translation is MUCH better than it was in the original. It’s not perfect but reads much smoother and is a better experience overall.

  4. happy gamer says:

  6. ShadowBlaz3 says:

More and more od “no sexual content” published 🙁
Whats happening to you admin? Ur gf found out ur stash?

    • Raine says:

“What happened”? I mean, he’s uploading what’s out and available. When more games with sexual content come out with translations, he’ll upload them. But recently, a lot of VNs without sexual content have been taking off. Which is actually a good thing, because it opens up people who have reservations about the pornographic side of visual novels to the medium as a whole.

That aside, thank you so much, Admin! I’ve been waiting on this to come out without the bugs of the original fan translation. You’re awesome, man! Keep doing what you do <3

Thanks admin, although I’m going to buy this on steam I wanted to thank you for your continued hard work over all of these years. I was a freshman in high school when I first stumbled on this site and now I’m working full-time. This site is very nostalgic for me, really happy to see it up after all this time.

  8. Gaporigo says:

Thanks, but for the first time i’m not gonna get my VN from here, for me, this is the one Visual Novel that deserves to be bought 🙂

  9. tyuhh says:

The shills are here in force, huh?

  10. KYP says:

I’ve used this site in the past and all, but people, please DON’T download this!!! If you like Clannad, please buy the game on Steam so Key can get money for creating this awesome visual novel. Please!!

    • Haru says:

I agree.I have already bought Clannad on Steam and it’s worth the money.

    • wut says:

      don’t buy
you’re suporting bad publisher sekai project
      sekai’s bad news
      suport by buying original japanese

    • Cocio says:

Sorry but I don’t want to buy it without the sexual content.

They would have to release an (un)official patch with the cut content like Starless for having my money.

      • admin says:

There were no sexual content in Clannad to begin with. Tomoyo After is 18+ spin-off of sorts, but Key’s h-scenes writing is notoriously bad, so you’re not missing much.

      • men......... says:

I will assume you are either new to reading VN or only read eroge.Clannad never and I mean NEVER had any sexual content.Nothing was cut from the game. Despite the fact that I do not like sekai as a publisher, this time they released what is essentially one of the greatest visual novels of all time. And this version is a vast improvement (the fan translation was subpar and unreadable at some points, so much so that even the translator admitted that it was bad). In the future please do proper research before discrediting other peoples work.

        • Cocio says:

Sorry I’ve erroneously supposed that there was sex with the heroine at the end of his ruote like every other Key visual novel I’ve played.
Anyway without “reward” sex at the end of the route I don’t feel motivated. I pass.
You guys have fun, and don’t cry for me, I start Euphoria.

          • Gaporigo says:

Well, that is sad, by ignoring this VN you are missing out in a VN that will always be at the very least in the Top 5 best VNs ever.

            • Anonymous says:

I wouldn’t say it’s a solid top 5 but it’s more a top 10 around the 7~10 mark being generous. There are much better VNs out there than Clannad that aren’t even translated yet or will probably never be translated at all.

              • Miguel Figueiras says:

I agree a little, but this VN is the only one that will make you cry buckets of tears(like me, either in the VN or anime version, i cried a lot!), so this VN worth the buy on steam, it one of thoses storys that make history, and i say what i allways tell to my friends to recomend this VN:
                IT’S A MASTERPIECE

  11. Anonymous says:

Clannad is one of the most overrated visual novels ever created so no one’s gonna miss anything if they read something else. It’s the one game I’d never give another try from Key.

  12. yo says:

Wow, that art is really off-putting. Was this originally made in the 90s or something?

    • Mico says:

This was made in early 2000’s, I don’t know if you haven’t watch any anime back then but this style of art was typical and the moe genre was getting started.

  13. sctn1884 says:

So I am thinking of playing this game right now, but I absolutely cant stand BAD and most of all BITTERSWEET endings.
Are the routes actual happy endings or some kind of train into onionabyss ?

  14. kempofist says:

So, when I download it, it says it’s a .rar file, but the icon shows an adobe pdf file and when I open the file after downloading, it opens Adobe pdf, how do I fix this? This happens on every download.

    • Ayemi says:

Do u have .rar or zip softwares? I guess it needs softwares to turn file into zip or rar. If not u can try by downloading one

  15. Miguel Figueiras says:

I only say one thing: Thank you master Jun Maeda for creating this masterpiece, that’s all!

  16. battle-sama :3 says:

  30. Lightwarrior11 says:

I watched a comparison video on Youtube, and found I much prefer original fan translation (it was more emotive and poetic). Any chance we can get that uploaded as well?
