Once upon a time, a long time ago… It is not.

In the corner of a certain village where ayakashi and humans coexist, there is a shop that serves meals for ayakashi. The name of this eatery is “Ponpokorin”. In that store, both ayakashi and humans visit it seeking to have a delicious meal. The shop owner is a youko (a mythological fox spirit) taking on a human form.

Apathy - Midnight Collection ~Vol. 1~ is an alternate retelling of the horror VN Gakkou de Atta Kowai Hanashi. Additional scenarios and art were eventually added to the original in 2007 to make Apathy - Gakkou de Atta Kowai Hanashi ~Visual Novel Version~, followed by a final version S that added further scenarios the following year.

In the end of WWII world, the demons in Japan are forced to make a decision in regards to the changes Japan is undergoing:
1) To remain as demons and watch over the land
2) To return to the netherworld or
3) To give up their power and status as demons and live amongst humans.
While there were some that chose otherwise, the majority of the demons decided it was best for everyone to go with option 3. It was tough, but as time passed these demons were able to blend in with the human world and live peacefully amongst them.

Aoishiro is an all-ages, yuri visual novel developed by Success. It is considered somewhat of a sequel to Akaiito, also, a yuri visual novel by Success, and the two seem to share the same world. The original release of the game was for Playstation 2 on May of 2008. In November of 2009, the game was ported to PC. Modifications included high-res, less-censored CG. In addition, there were some extra CG and two extra side stories were added. There is also a mode where you can design your own Aoishiro scenes using a proprietary scripting language.
