Farther Than the Blue Sky

Farther Than the Blue Sky

There were just five of us when we first started developing rockets. We didn’t have enough money, equipment, or knowledge. Everyone told us we would fail, but I…

We… didn’t give up. None of us.

We lived on Amanoshima, an island far to the south of mainland Japan and the location of a large aerospace program. Our school, Amanoshima Academy, had a prestigious aerospace curriculum and students from all over the nation attended it, eyes set on being a part of the next generation of rocket scientists.

“Hey. Want to make rockets with us?”

That was why I was so surprised when asked me to join her. I was enrolled in the normal curriculum, not aerospace, and nobody ever doubted the fact that I was an idiot. But when I looked into her eyes, I saw how sincere she was… and it shook me.

Finally, I decided to join the small rocket club she was the president of: Byakko.

“You won’t make rockets at Byakko.”

The one who told me that was Reimei Kaho, vice-president of the largest and most illustrious rocket club of the many at our school: the ARC. She had come to notify us that we had been dissolved.

There was only one way to stave off our own abolition. We had to win a rocket competition before the beginning of the second term. There were five of us. Arisa. Me.

“We can make rockets at Byakko too.”

Ibuki Nazuna, who loved rockets like nobody else.

“I want to be in your club.”

Michibiki Honoka, my childhood friend who loved to play tricks on others.

And, finally, Kaho, who had made so much trouble for us initially. Together we tackled rocket science.

We had to win a competition if we wanted our club to endure. And, even more than that, we wanted to launch a rocket that our own hands had built and see it soar toward space.

The Karman line: 100km of altitude.

Higher than the clear sky.

We worked hard and chased our dreams to the edge of space.

  1. The game files seem to be corrupted in that they won’t sync up and allow for the game to be extracted and played. Seems to be the 2nd file specifically, and maybe other files as well.

  2. Keep getting an error randomly which will crash the game. When i re-launch it says “Object-time error was detected”
I cant find anything online about this, anyone know whats up?

  3. Its an okay game, and I like the girls to an extent. I just felt my mind start to check out when they really got into the rocket stuff. I’m not playing a VN for science, you know? After the umpteenth diagram a girl can only take so much. I play these games for sweet ooeygooy crap. Not to learn about rocketry.

        1. I started reading If My Heart Had Wings again and it’s actually quite interesting. The characters are great. Grab the retranslation patch
          – when I tried it out there was no patch available, that was moons ago, and I lost interest then. This time it’s different.

Maybe I’ll give this a try.

        2. By the way, do you know other games/VNs where you can learn stuff? I actually like that, it just depends on the topic…

  4. This is one of the games the company behind (If you love me say so:IYLMSS) which i liked, but the company decided to break without making the last 2-3 heroies DLC. I just hope this one don’t share IYLMSS problem that keep me erasing the save data in order to keep playing.

  5. Ok this wasn’t too bad, however it is one of those typical games where the overall story and group conversations are pretty entertaining, while the actual character arcs are pretty lame for the most part.

    1. Object-time error was detected ERASE HD Cache (Not Recommended) game always crashes at a certain point downloaded it 3 times and put it on different Hard drives each time. Get same error but the game crashes at a different point each time but if always the same point on each version I use

    1. Yeah felt the same when reading it, but so far it’s better than you’d think. Pretty generic but the dialogues aren’t written too poorly. Enjoying it so far.

    1. Farther Than the Blue Sky was created first before If You Love Me, Then Say So! and of course it came from the same company ChuableSoft
