Asphyxia

Asphyxia

Samantha is depressed. She’s been depressed for a long time, almost as long as she can remember, but it’s slowly been getting worse. She thought Lillian was her friend, her best friend. Perhaps she even thought of her as more than that. Why, then, did their relationship have to fall apart? Was it really her fault? She didn’t do anything wrong. At least, she didn’t intend to. Now, three months later, Samantha finally has her chance. Forced together on their geography field trip to the Lake District, will she finally be able to repair her relationship with Lillian – or will it collapse all over again?

I think you people should give western visual novels a chance, they are as good as japanese ones, some of them are even better.

    1. I don’t really think so. It may seem pretentious but it portraits depression and unrequited love incredibly well. You can also see that the author knows her stuff about british romantics, because the relationships between them are fairly accurate.
It’s easy to call it pretentious, but if you look deeper you can see a game with fantastic writing.

      1. Pretentious is a word that gets throws around way too much lately to the point where it has basically lost its meaning. These days cynical douches label anything that they don’t personally enjoy to be ‘pretentious’. Ironically, those people themselves couldn’t write a decent story if their life depended on it.
